The restoration of the Scarpa wing

03/06/2025

On the occasion of the exhibition “Carlo Scarpa e le arti alla Biennale. Opere e vetri dalla collezione Gemin”, the Museum will also host a conservative restoration intervention on a section of the renowned extension designed by Carlo Scarpa.
This project represents a significant opportunity to ensure the long-term preservation of the Venetian architect’s work, through an in-depth diagnostic survey and a carefully planned restoration process.

The temporary closure of the area known as the Cannocchiale is necessary to safeguard Possagno’s historic, artistic, and architectural heritage.

The restoration is carried out by the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio for the Metropolitan Area of Venice and the Provinces of Belluno, Padua, and Treviso, in collaboration with the Municipality of Possagno and the Iuav University of Venice, with the support of extraordinary funding from the MIC – Directorate General for ABAP.
